Meryl Streep Lands Frst Vogue Cover

After 30 years in the entertainment business, 16 Academy Award and 25 Golden Globe Award nominations Meryl Streep has finally landed the cover of Vogue magazine.

As always the 62-year-old kept it classy and simple by wearing a light blue silver-ish dress, big brown belt while sitting on the sea side as the waves crashed behind.

It will come to no surprise to learn that the talented actress neglected to talk about fashion, focusing solely on her impressive career.

Streep who is currently promoting her new movie “The Iron Lady” which focuses on the life of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher revealed to the mag that she respects the politician, because they share a very simple philosophy – you must work hard to achieve your goals.

The New Jerseyan also got candid with the fashion bible about her age revealing that she is the oldest person to grace the cover and that when she turned 40 three producers asked her to play a witch in their movies.

There are already rumors that “The French Lieutenant’s Woman” star will be taking the Best Actress Oscar award next year.

“The Iron Lady” opens in theaters worldwide on January 13, 2012.
