Kari Bales the wife of Staff Sergeant Robert Bales sat down with TODAY’s host Matt Lauer for an emotional interview where she explained that her faith in her husband and the father of her two children is even stronger than the evidence that the military has against him.

She shared that she does not believe that Staff Sergeant Robert Bales is capable of killing 17 unarmed Afghan civilians – including nine children because he loves kids – she added that he himself he behaves like a kid.

Mrs. Bales who has yet to see her spouse since the murders took place in two southern Afghanistan villages few weeks ago, continued by telling the television host that while his fourth deployment to Afghanistan was a surprise – he did successfully past all of his evaluations.

After revealing that she has set up a defense fund for the accused army personal, she dropped another bombshell – she claimed that her 38-year-old spouse often shielded her from the horrors of the wars and therefore never told her that he had symptoms of PTSD nor he had recently suffered a massive head injury.

Robert Bales who was charged with 17 counts of murder for the killing is set to go on trial in April with most experts predicting that the veteran who fought both in Iraq and Afghanistan will be imprisoned for life.
