Man Swallows 20k Diamond Police Say
Talk about having expensive taste. A man by the name of Richard Mackenzie Matthews is currently being held in a Canadian prison after he stole a $20,000 diamond and swallowed it just moments before he was arrested.
According to Windsor, Ontario authorities Richard Mackenzie Matthews who is also known as the diamond switcher snatched the 1.7 carat diamond from Precision Jewellers after asking the store’s employee to see an engagement ring which he quickly replaced with a fake one.
Richard Mackenzie Matthews was placed in a prison cell without a toilet and it took officers one week for him to have a bowel a movement with the precious stone.
Believe it or not the 52-year-old has a pair of fake diamond earrings stuck inside of his intestines and has not been able to pass them.
